TikTok video export settings

A portrait MP4 is a useful TikTok master. Export settings are only part of the publishing decision: the account's permitted duration, the API route and the final video content also matter.

Check a TikTok video

Before you start

  • Check your account's permitted duration before choosing the timeline length.
  • Keep the subject and essential words away from interface overlays and inspect on a phone.

Use a practical working export

Start with 1080 × 1920 for a 9:16 portrait canvas. TikTok's Content Posting API guide recommends MP4 and H.264, while documenting other supported formats. Its frame-rate range is 23 to 60 fps. Keep your source frame rate when it is within that range.

The portrait canvas is editing advice. The API supports a wider range of dimensions; a narrow range of accepted file measurements is not the same as a universal requirement to use this preset.

Review the product checks

Frame rate23 to 60 frames a second

LoopBatch checks its own publishing limits before approval. Do not infer an account's available duration from the largest API upload limit. TikTok's media guide describes different duration access for creators and a separate upload endpoint maximum.

Watch the complete export

Listen for the last word of narration and inspect captions during the fastest movement. Preview where the caption and buttons overlap the video. If you use generated realistic content, review the disclosure requirement as part of approval.

The checker reads measurements locally. It does not verify a music licence, the encoding profile or TikTok's audit status for a publishing app.

The steps

  1. Choose a portrait timeline and a duration your publishing route and account support.

  2. Export MP4/H.264 at a supported frame rate.

  3. Choose TikTok video in the checker and review every required limit.

  4. Check the final playback, rights and disclosure before approving a post.

Check the result

  • The intended publishing route accepts the duration.
  • The file's measured dimensions and entered frame rate pass the checks.
  • Essential words and the subject remain visible in the destination preview.

If something goes wrong

  • If the result is private, review the publishing app's audit and privacy restrictions; re-exporting cannot change them.
  • If a video is too long for the account, shorten the edit even when the upload endpoint can transfer a longer file.

Common questions

Is the API's maximum duration available to every account?

No. TikTok documents different account duration access. Check the destination account and publishing route rather than assuming every account can use the largest upload limit.
